Installation (Client)

So you're looking to get started with using UE4SS for Palworld? You've come to the right place! This guide will walk you through the installation steps for each platform that currently supports UE4SS. Linux is excluded from this guide since UE4SS does not officially support it yet.

Installing UE4SS

This step can vary depending on the platform you're on so I will be splitting the instructions for each one in the form of buttons just below this text.

  1. First, we want to locate where Palworld is installed. Easy way to do this is to open Steam and find Palworld in your Library. Right-click it, select Properties, navigate to Installed Files and click on the button that says Browse. You are now at the root folder of your Palworld install.

  2. You'll see a bunch of folders and files like Pal, Engine, Palworld.exe. Navigate into Pal > Binaries > Win64 and you should now see Palworld-Win64-Shipping.exe in the Win64 folder.

  3. Locate your UE4SS-Palworld.zip or UE4SS_v3.0.1-xxx-xxxxxxxx.zip depending on if you went the manual route or not. Open the .zip file if it isn't open already and move the ue4ss folder and dwmapi.dll file into the Win64 folder you navigated to in the previous step. If you went the manual route when downloading UE4SS, then you'll have to move the downloaded MemberVariablesLayout file inside the ue4ss folder as well.

  4. You have now successfully installed UE4SS for Steam version of Palworld, congrats! You may now proceed to the Configuration guide to ensure UE4SS is running smoothly when playing.
